Adeyemi Earns Timeless Praise

Celebrated author of the Legacy of Orïsha fantasy series, Tomi Adeyemi, has received an unexpected accolade in the form of making Time Magazine’s list of the 100 most influential people of 2020.

At only 27 years of age, Tomi Adeyemi is already no stranger to success, having already taken home an Andre Norton award and a Hugo Lodestar award for her debut novel, Children of Blood and Bone, as well as making Forbes Magazine’s coveted 30 under 30 list.

In the latest accolade from Time magazine, Tomi is written about by none other than John Boyega, yes the one from Star Wars. Describing his experience with Children of Blood and Bone he says:

I read it, then I read it again, then I listened to the audiobook. I was being introduced to a world I couldn’t have imagined before.

John Boyega goes on to say, about Tomi Adeyemi herself:

Tomi is the god of ideas. She’s inspiring a lot of young people to write.
